Prof. Dr. David Higgitt
Professor David Higgitt currently serves as the Academic Dean at Lancaster University. He has long been committed to fostering UK–China higher education collaboration and is a key advocate for international academic exchange and the development of global education.
His areas of expertise include geography and environmental science, with extensive research and practical experience in sustainability education, pedagogical innovation, and intercultural learning. With a strong foundation in academic leadership and curriculum design, Professor Higgitt has contributed to numerous teaching reform initiatives and faculty development programs, dedicated to nurturing globally-minded educators and students.
Professor Higgitt leads the “eCADRE” project (Enabling Collaborative Academic Development, Research & Entrepreneurship), supported by the British Council, which aims to enhance international collaboration in research, entrepreneurship, and academic development in higher education. He also actively promotes the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into postgraduate and management education, emphasizing the pivotal role and impact of higher education in advancing sustainability.
