In addition to striving for exceptional engineering quality, the Public Works Department, Taipei City Government (PWD) is strengthening environmental and ecological protection and promoting the city’s sustainable development. In response to climate change, we have widely adopted policies such as permeable pavement, rainwater storage, rainwater harvesting, and the reuse of reclaimed water in order to reinforce the concept of environmental conservation. In doing so, we combine innovative modern technologies, including the adoption of smart management facilities: automatic monitoring and control of pumping stations, real-time construction video and establishing 3D pipeline maps. Moreover, through the proactive promotion of the collaboration of the public and private sector, as well as the participation of the public, the PWD is confident in turning Taipei City into a sustainable city ready to compete overseas.
